Hoping that the rain stays away from the shore, here’s what’s going on at the Jersey Shore this weekend. First, we have two great music festivals:
Thursday through Saturday it’s the Seaside Music Festival. During this 3-day weekend, bands, music industry professionals, music fans, and those who are looking to cure their cabin fever will flood the town for live performances. A variety of musical genres take over the town with great rock and alternative acts, singer-songwriters, DJs/electronic acts, pop-singers/groups, folk-artists, and many others. The best part of it all—no one pays a cent to see any of the 120+ bands.
Then on Saturday and Sunday, Point Pleasant Beach hosts its 3rd Annual Jazz and Blues Festival. You’ll have a music stage with National, Regional and Local Jazz & Blues Artists. Wine tasting by New Jersey Wineries, Great Local Cuisine, Explore Unique, Hand Made Craft Vendors and more. This is a free festival, except for the wine tasting which is a nominal charge.
For the foodies, on Saturday you can go to Toms River for the 22nd Annual NJ State Chili & Salsa Cook Off, NJ’s original and hottest cook-off! International Chili Society-sanctioned State competition. 11am-5pm, Washington St
And if you want even more food, there are two more events:
- Saturday: A Taste of Bradley Beach, from 12-8pm in Riley Park
- Sunday: Taste of Manasquan, where you can visit 25 eateries & sample Manasquan’s finest cuisines from 12-4pm
If you’re looking to rent a house at the shore, check out ShoreVacations.com, Jersey Shore’s biggest vacation rentals resource. It lists hundreds of rental homes and condos from Sandy Hook all the way down to Cape May (including Belmar, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Ocean City, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City or the Wildwoods). It’s a one-stop website for planning your Jersey Shore vacation, featuring beach information, weather updates and more! And of course, it has a full list of all the Jersey Shore events this year.
