After a stellar Memorial Day Weekend, the summer is in full effect at the Jersey Shore. For the first actual weekend of summer, here are some of the events that you can attend:
On Saturday it’s the Atlantic Highlands Classic Car Show, with dozens of classic cars lining First Avenue. There will be cash prizes and goodie bags for car entrants, gift certificate prizes, balloons for children, face painting, and entertainment at numerous locations along First Avenue for all ages, automotive vendors in Veterans’ Park as well as Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce vendors.
Also on Saturday, you have the Point Pleasant Summerfest in the Park. The annual Street Fair will be completely in the park this year and will be fun for all at the Jersey Shore. Crafters, New Merchandise & Food Vendors! Rides and animals for the kids, fun for the whole family. Come party with 20,000 of your closest friends and neighbors! This year Summerfest will be in the park and also include a beer diamond complete with waitress service! There will be over 200 craft vendors, live music on the gazebo style stage and plenty of food from Point Pleasant and all over the shore.
Red Bank will host its famous RiverFest, Friday to Sunday in the Marine Park. Three days of sun, sunsets & evening stars with the best Red Bank area restaurants, non stop music and family fun for everyone.
This weekend you can also go to the Ocean City Flower Show to see beautiful commercial and amateur displays at the Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace & Boardwalk. Fri 2pm – 9pm, Sat 10am – 9pm and Sun 10am – 4 pm.
If you’re in Wildwood, don’t miss the Spring Thunder in the Sand Pro/Am Motocross Races. On the Beach between Schellenger and Spencer Ave. AMA-sanctioned Pro-Am races for beginners to pros. Fri: 6-8:30pm for “Test ‘n Tune.” Sat: 10am. Sun: 9am.
And on Sunday in Lavallette it’s Swim-a-Palooza, Ocean County’s premier early season swim event featuring Barnegat Bay 70 deg water, GPS certified, chip timing, large tetra buoys for sighting, lifeguards, paddle board & kayak patrol. .6, 1.2 or 2.4 miles.
