Looking forward to another sunny weekend at the Jersey Shore? Here are some of the events going around on the weekend of June 8-10, 2012:
Sunday it’s the inaugural Taste of Atlantic Highlands. You can stroll down First Ave and neighboring streets and for the price of one ticket ($30) you can sample food and drinks at 28 local restaurants. Many town businesses will also run raffles and offer giveaways. You can buy tickets from any participating restaurant, or pre-order online.
Friday to Sunday runs another food-fest: the Belmar Seafood Festival, one of the largest seafood festivals in the nation. You’ll find great seafood, crafters, and live entertainment in the Silver Lake Park. Hours are 4-7pm on Friday and 11am-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday, the Tuckerton Seaport hosts the 2nd Annual Privateers & Pirates Fest between 11am-5pm. It’s an “All Things Pirates” day: Learn the difference between privateers and pirates and then be one, learn some pirate history, plus a treasure scavenger hunt, games and a duel. Go dressed as a pirate and receive a discounted admission fee.

- LBIFest 2012: Family fun festival welcoming summer with arts, crafts, vendors, live music, demonstrations, clinics, nonprofit organizations and kiddie bounces, at Bayview Park in Brant Beach, 11am-6pm.
- Cape May Victorian Fair: A traditional Victorian fair on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate, Cape May’s only Victorian house museum. The day features music, crafts, collectibles, children’s activities and refreshments. 10am-4pm, free admission.
- Ocean Grove Vintage Car Show, 10am-4pm. Casually stroll Main Avenue and listen to Doo-Wop hits while you check out some classy vintage autos.
Sunday it’s the Irish Festival at Monmouth Park Racetrack, a celebration of Irish culture and heritage. There will be live music, food, and much more. 12pm-5pm.
Finally, Friday and Saturday, North Wildwood is hosting the Mummers Brigade Weekend on Olde New Jersey Ave. Starts Friday at 7pm with the Pub Crawl and a friendly competition among various groups for best Captain “Strut”. Then Saturday from 4:45pm it’s the parade featuring the top 7 Mummers Brigades from Philadelphia’s New Years Day 2012 Parade.
