Morey’s Piers Challenges Dad to Curley’s Fry Eating Competition on Father’s Day

This Father’s Day, Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Waterparks hosts its Third Annual Curley’s Fry Eating Contest inviting dads to face-off against each other for the title of Curley’s Fry Eating Champion. Dad will feel like a kid again with free, unlimited rides on all three piers and both waterparks on Sunday, June 16, 2013.

Jersey Shore Events: Morey's Piers Fathers DayKicking off at noon, Curley’s Fry eating participants will devour the famed fries to see how many 1lb buckets can be eaten in 5 minutes for the chance at a grand prize of $500. This year’s competition will take place at Joe’s Fish Co. at 25th St and the Boardwalk. Families can cheer on dad or dodge bits of potato in the audience, as contestants typically consume as much as 150 pounds of Curley’s Fries. A legend on the boardwalk since 1974, Curley’s Fries has locations in front of both Mariner’s Landing and Surfside Piers. The Annual Curley Fry Eating Contest is open to all participants ages 18 and older, to pre-register please contact Kristel Fillmore. On-site registration begins at 11:00am.

Following the competition, a second fry eating showdown will take place challenging the Wildwoods police departments against the Wildwoods fire departments for the chance to win $500 and hometown bragging rights.

Fathers will receive a Ride and Waterpark Combination wristband good for all day admission to all Mariner’s Landing, Surfside, and Adventure Pier, as well as both waterparks. Dads can pick up their wristband at any Pier ticket booth, Guest Services, or the ticket offices at Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis.

With more than 100 rides and attractions to choose from, the entire family can ride on one of the largest ferris wheels on the east coast, loop upside down on the Great Nor’easter coaster, splash down one of the steepest log flumes, and much more.
