Chef Ryan Lory Brings Unique Brand of Euro-Mediterranean Cuisine to Monmouth County
Garden State epicureans are invited to discover a new culinary gem in Monmouth County this December with the opening of Bistro Rylo. Executive Chef Ryan Lory is marking his return to New Jersey with the opening of his first and highly anticipated Euro-Mediterranean-inspired bistro located at 1801 Highway 35 in Ocean Township. The dining destination has been renovated and redesigned to meet Chef Lory’s vision for a modern and inviting restaurant that will attract gourmands who seek an elevated dining experience at an approachable price point.
Chef Lory has assembled a team of rising stars in the culinary world, including 30-year-old Chef Sam Byrne. Originally from Ireland, Chef Byrne has worked throughout Europe at Michelin-star restaurants, including the acclaimed elBulli in Roses, Catalonia, Spain. In addition to Chef Byrne, Chef Ryan Lor, no relation to the proprietor, has been named pastry chef at Bistro Rylo. His experience includes positions with Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif. and David Burke Fromagerie in Rumson. While the two chefs share similar names, they more importantly share an unwavering passion for the culinary arts that will be showcased on the Bistro Rylo menu.
“Bistro Rylo will be a unique addition to the region’s culinary landscape,” commented owner and Executive Chef Ryan Lory. “My vision is to bring a Manhattan-style dining experience, complete with whimsical plating and palatable flavors, to foodies looking to experience gourmet cuisine in a warm and inviting setting. The creative process, from menu selection to restaurant aesthetic, has been an incredible and exciting journey. My entire team is excited to share the Bistro Rylo vision with patrons.”
Having attended culinary school at the Art Institute of California – Orange County, and with lead positions at acclaimed properties such as Big Canyon Country Club, Chef Lory is spotlighting his creative talents and fervor for cuisine with Bistro Rylo’s Euro-Mediterranean-influenced menu featuring flavors from France, Spain, Italy and Greece. While he relishes modern fare and creative presentation, Chef Lory credits his classic, French-based training as an important inspiration in his recipes and menu selection. In addition to the Bistro Rylo dinner menu, seasonal, supplementary tasting menus will be featured at the restaurant on an ongoing basis.
Bistro Rylo will have it’s preview event on December 19, starting at 6:00 p.m. Menu selections and samplings will include Chef Lory’s signature, 24-hour braised short ribs, duck confit French toast, paella, vegetarian selections, and an array of traditional desserts made in-house featuring Chef Lor’s creative plating and presentation. The restaurant will officially open to the public on December 20 for dinner service. For more information, please call 732-508-9686.
