Summer 2014 at the Jersey Shore starts this Memorial Day weekend with the opening of Morey’s Piers’ Raging Waters Water Park on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Raging Waters guests can “go wild” on exhilarating water rides and slides such as the River Adventure, Shotgun Falls, the 175,000 gallon interactive activity pool and two interactive kiddie play areas.
Now celebrating its 45th season, all three of Morey’s amusement piers – Mariner’s, Surfside, and Adventure – will be open from Friday through Monday, May 23- 26, giving guests a glimpse of what’s in store at the Wildwood boardwalk this season; including:
- Play & Stay Savings: Guests of Morey Hotels & Resorts properties can save up to 70% on ride and water park passes throughout the summer with the “Play & Stay” package. - Special Events: On Monday, May 26 from 9:00am to 12:00pm on the back of Adventure Pier, Morey’s Piers will host the first hero WOD Memorial Day MURPH. This is a special group workout, being done all over the country, in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who lost his life in Afghanistan in 2005. The workout consists of a one mile run, 100 air squats, 200 pushups, and 100 pull-ups, followed by a second one mile run all while enjoying the magnificent views of the beach and boardwalk. All proceeds from the Memorial Day event will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Advanced ticket purchase and sign-up is required.
Local band Slpyr kicks-off a full summer line-up of rock n’ roll as the first School of Rock performance at Adventure Pier on Friday, May 23 at 9pm. The Memorial Day weekend music schedule also includes: Brothers & Sisters on May 24 at 7:30pm, The Bucks Band on May 25 at 7pm, and Slypher at 2pm on May 26.
