Halloween 2014 Events at the Jersey Shore

Looking for some Halloween fun around the Jersey Shore? Here’s a look at some of the Jersey Shore parades and a few other cool Halloween events.

Most festivities are happening on the weekend of October 25-26:

  • Jersey Shore Events: Toms River Halloween ParadeToms River Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 25, from 7pm. Reported to be one of the largest parades of its type in the world, it has plenty of floats and decorative Halloween themed attractions.
  • Ocean Grove Halloween Parade is also on Saturday at Noon, at Firemen’s Park on Main St. For pets and children.
  • Halloween Hullabaloo is a Free event at Poricy Park in Middletown, on Saturday, 5-8pm. Includes candy, costume contests, cartooning with the Doodle Dude, haunted hayrides, a scavenger hunt and more. Costume contests for several age groups and groups of two or more begin at 5:15pm. Hayrides from 5:30pm.
  • Sunday it’s the Point Pleasant Boro Halloween Costume & Float Parade, 1-3pm on Bridge Ave. Open to all ages, groups, and businesses that wish to celebrate the Halloween season. Fun for all ages – Pets – Groups – Motorized Floats – Pull Floats

On Saturday, October 25, there are also a couple of fun races:

  • Jersey Shore Halloween Events: Wildwood Pumpkin RunMonster Dash 5K in Point Pleasant Beach, a frightfully fun Halloween-themed charity race on Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.
  • Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run. 5K & 10K run along with a 1 mile family walk, starting at 10am. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes.

There are also some bigger weekend-long events coming up:

  • New Jersey Halloween Events: Tuckerton Haunted SeaportOctober 23-25: Tuckerton’s Haunted Seaport. Pirates and sea captains long lost at sea stroll the boardwalk for a night of screams. Haunted Tucker’s Island Lighthouse, hayrides, black light mini golf, phragmites maze, food, refreshments, entertainment and a non-scary pumpkin patch for the little ones.
  • October 24-25: Operation Halloween. Prepare to be scared! Zombie Outbreak 7-11pm (not suitable for young children); Jersey Devil Hayride 7-11pm; Munchkin Hayride 4-6pm (suitable for young children). Safe Trick or Treat Hay Maze Halloween Activities Food Vendors. At the Joseph A Citta Scout Camp in the Pine Barrens.

Six Flags Fright Fest 2014Finally, don’t forget that the Six Flags Great Adventure’s FrightFest is running for 2 more weekends, until November 2nd. It’s Northeast’s largest Halloween party, and it has several new shows and attractions this fall. On closing day, Nov. 2, the Six Flags Race Series introduces the Biggest Loser RunWalk. This non-intimidating race is designed to challenge America to get fit, and was inspired by the hit reality show “The Biggest Loser.”
