Keansburg Amusement Park Rebuilding Historic Old Heidelberg Inn

Keansburg Amusement Park is currently rebuilding the historic Old Heidelberg Inn after it was completely destroyed by Hurricane Sandy more than 2 years ago.

Keansburg Amusement Park Old Heidelberg InnDating back to the early 1930’s, Keansburg Amusement Park is looking to restore what was known as a locals staple back to where it once was by bringing back their famous griddle franks. The menu will feature these iconic hot dogs as well as an array of sausages, french fries and a full bar along with TV’s. Owners, Hank and Bill Gehlhaus plan to restore the building back as true to the original design as possible by giving the restaurant that vintage look that people remember it by.

“It is important for us to have this iconic operation back in business,” says Keansburg Amusement Park owner, Hank Gehlhaus.  “We plan to restore the restaurant to as close as we possibly can.”

Currently under construction, Keansburg Amusement Park hopes to open the Old Heidelberg Inn this summer of 2015.
