The fall is festival time at the Jersey Shore, with a variety of events taking place in many beach towns. Here are the best family festivals at the shore in 2015:
October 3-4: LBI Chowderfest. This family-fun festival features live music, activities, and unlimited chowder tasting with the opportunity for each ticket holder to vote for their favorite red and white chowder. Saturday is the fabulous Merchant Mart where hundreds of vendors offer the best deals of the season, and Sunday is the Chowder Cook Off. 11am-4pm. – EVENT CANCELED!
October 3: Sea Isle City Harborfest. This bay-side festival celebrates Sea Isle’s fishing and nautical history. Festival-goers will enjoy delicious seafood, live music, nautical display, crafts and specialty vendors. 11am-4pm at the Marina Complex.
October 10-11: PierFest 2015. Jersey Shore’s premiere new fall festival, at Pier Village in Long Branch. Columbus Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 1-5pm each day. Free event with live music, vendors, crafters, DJ, sidewalk sales, kids activities and much more
October 10: Ocean City Fall Block Party and Fireworks Spectacular. 9am-5pm from 5th-14th Streets on Asbury Ave. Over 400 crafters, food vendors, music and more. In the evening, family night entertainment on the boardwalk with fireworks beginning at 9:30pm.
October 10: Wildwood Seafood & Music Festival. FREE street fair from 11am-8pm on Atlantic Ave between Wildwood and Schellenger Ave. 2 stages of live music, crafters, food vendors, a pie eating contest and much more! A Kids Korner with activities including pumpkin painting, face painting and bounce houses.
October 11: Belmar Oktoberfest. Antiques and original crafts, performers, pumpkin decorating contest, food court featuring local establishments, children’s obstacle course & games, and professional pony rides. Main Street between 8th and 10th Ave, 11am-5pm.
October 9-11: Seaside Heights Italian Street Festival. Grant Avenue from Central Ave to Boardwalk. Savor a weekend of delectable Italian specialties, arts and crafts, entertainment, and a parade that is bound to delight young and old alike. Annual Columbus Day parade on Sunday at 1pm.
October 17: Sea Isle City Octoberfest. The celebration will feature live German music, vendors, free hayrides on the beach, magic acts, pumpkin painting and other children’s entertainment (including a giant rock-climbing wall) and a fantastic Pie Baking Contest. 11am-3pm in Excursion Park
October 17: Pt Pleasant Rhythm & Chowder Festival. Enjoy 10 of the areas best chowders along with some rockin music! This event will also feature a beer garden that includes 25 of the areas best crafters. Noon-6pm on the Inlet.
October 17 (new date): Oktoberfest in Highlands. 2-9pm in Veterans Park. Authentic German food, children’s activities, crafters, live music, dancing and more
