Every summer brings a lot of outdoor festivals at the Jersey Shore, attracting people of all ages. If you’re going to be at the Jersey Shore in 2016, here are some major festivals that the entire family can enjoy.
June 11: Tuckerton Seaport Privateers & Pirate Festival. Learn the difference between privateers and pirates and then be one. Pirate history, authentic and make believe plus a treasure scavenger hunt, games and a duel. Live band, Grog Garden and tasty food vendors.
June 18: Point Pleasant Jazz and Blues Festival. Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation’ summer Series of Festivals kicks off in Point Pleasant Borough with live music, food, beer and wine garden, crafts and fun for all ages, at the Riverfront Park on River Rd.
June 18: Seaside Heights Hot Rods and Food Trucks. On Bay Blvd, 11am-5pm. Admission for spectators is free! Hundreds of classic cars and hot rods plus a dozen or more of the area’s Best Food Trucks. Music, prizes, activities for kids!
June 18-19: Sea Isle City Skimmer Festival. Saturday craft&food vendors, live music, children’s activities, sand sculpting contest, 9am-4pm. Saturday evening concert at Excursion Park 8-10pm. Sunday admire scores of vintage vehicles while enjoying live music at the Auto Antique Car show on the promenade.
June 25: Cape May Hops Festival. New in 2016! Celebrate the beginning of summer at the Physick Estate, with a day devoted to regional and local crafts beers, great food, local wine, live music, crafts and collectibles and kids activities.
June 24-26: North Wildwood Italian-American Festival. Annual celebration of Italian-American heritage, food and music held on Olde New Jersey Ave. Authentic Italian foods, vendors, free live entertainment, dancing, kids games, celebrity appearances, meatball relay races, Little Miss Italy contest, olive tree signings and more.
July 4: Oceanfest. Biggest Independence Day celebration anywhere in New Jersey, on the Long Branch Boardwalk. 10am-10pm with vendors, bands, exhibits, food, and fireworks.
July 8-10: North Wildwood BBQ Championship & Anglesea Blues Festival. 2nd and Olde New Jersey Ave, and surrounding pubs. Experience the best in Barbeque & Blues. Live cooking demonstrations, incredible food and top regional and national blues acts on the free main stage.
July 16-17: 12th Annual Cape May Celtic Festival. At the Historic Cold Spring Village. Celebrate traditions of the Celtic Highlands with live entertainment-music, dancing, crafts, beer pavilion and more
July 23: Asbury Park Blues & Brews Festival. Free festival in Bradley Park, 12-8pm. Live music, food vendors, beer garden, crafts, children activities, fun for all ages!
August 13-14: Truckerton Food Truck & Brew Fest. 20 food trucks rolling in over two days to serve food and fun. Live music, vendors, family activities, boat rides, decoy carving, boat building. Craft beer garden; wine tasting and sales.
August 27: Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival. The Great Lawn, 12-9:30pm. Vendors of exotic and regional NJ food, 7 great bands including Function 11 as the featured closing act! Featuring a stage for music, Kid’s Activities, the Beach, and Fireworks. Lawn chairs encouraged, coolers forbidden, sunscreen a must. Fireworks from 9:30.
